5b - More #Questions Than #Answers

Avalon and Greg struggled to the car.  She pushed his strong muscled body into the front seat.  He leaned over to the side as he moaned and groaned a few times.  Avalon shut the door and looked around to see if anyone was watching them.  She was hot, sweaty, and confused.  What did he mean when he said, the nurse was not a nurse; and why was she helping him to escape the hospital?  She was already in a hot water for putting him there in the first place.  Or so she thought.

Avalon regained her composure and got into the car anddrove off.

"What do you mean she's not a nurse?"  Avalon asked.  She tried not to sound confused, but more like Greg was the one who was trippin'.

"Just drive."  Greg said as the words slurred out of his mouth.

Avalon was hesitant.  But at this point what was she going to do...drag him back into the hospital? Those actions would surely bring more questions into play and it wouldn't look good for her case.

"This doesn't make sense!" Avalon yelled at Greg.  "I'm already in trouble, they already think I tried to poison your ass, and now I'm out here kidnapping you, when all I really trying to do was to see if you were okay, but nooooo, the nurse wasn't a nurse, I'm fucked!"

"Finished? Next time come up for air."  He said with a slurred calm voice.  "Whatever drug she gave me needs time to wear off, I promise I will clue you in."

Greg let the window down.  The crispness of the air hit his face.  As the wind, hit his face there was a quick and sharp halt to the car.  Avalon sat on the side of the freeway.  Cars flew by.

"Oh no you don't.  You're going to tell me everything...right here...right now!" Avalon demanded.  "I'm sick of this shit. I have no idea what I'm into and what it's going take to get me out!"

Avalon sat in the driver's seat and fumed.  Greg slowly turned away from the window and stared at her.

"How do I know they already don't have an APB out on us?  Do I look like I'm Thelma or Louise?"

Avalon banged her hands on the steering wheel; angry and scared.

"I will explain everything, we just need to stay low.  I have somewhere we can go."

"Stay low?"

At this point, Avalon wasn't sure what was happening, why it was happening, who was she to be mixed up in all this confusion.

"We have go get off the grid,"  He said.  "I have place where we can hang."

Suddenly, Avalon felt a sense of adventure enter her.

"Once we get to the spot, I will tell you what you need to know."

He smiled at her.  How could she resist?  It was that smiled that attracted her to him in the first place; she pulled off and continued driving down the freeway.
