So long XXMI

This morning I went back and reread the post for December 31, 2010.  2010 was a very good year for me. Lot of changes from having my good friend live with me (who is still homeless), to getting married.  So how did 2011 fair?  It was  crazy year, filled with challenges, changes and laughter.   That's the only way I can put it.

I'm looking forward to 2012.  I know it promises to be a good year for me.  I've got a lot of good things in the works.

It is now your turn 2011 to be placed in the history books...thanks for all your blessings.

Happy Old Year!

Hard to Shop - #Christmas

Apparently,  I'm a hard person to shop for according to my husband.  For the last two weeks he has been asking me to give him a list of things I'd want for Christmas.  This, I have failed to do until last night.

So, on Wednesday night he makes this bold statement that he knows exactly where he's going to take me on Friday.  He wouldn't tell me it...it was a surprise.  So Friday came and he takes me to a like a discounted electronics store because he knows I love gadgets.

I have no clue as to what I wanted.  I have a digital camera, we have flat screen tvs, we own computers, I have a tablet, I have a smartphone, I don't play video games as much as I use to....so I was kinda lost.

So I finally pic out something.  A SMART TV. And he wasn't happy with that choice.  He asked me where was I going to put it, and I was like on the wall to replace the one we have in our bedroom.  He then said, "No Michelle, because if you get something like that, then I really won't be able use the TV."  I was very offended by his statements.

It's been difficult in sharing the TV in our bedroom.  We are both use to having our own stuff. So sharing is a little tough.  But I like to DVR my shows, so I can watch them at a later date.  I try to watch them when he's not home.  Then he comes home and wants to play Madden for hours.  I don't want to go downstairs and watch my shows.  I like being in the bedroom.

So I suggested putting the TV downstairs in the living room - we don't have a TV in the living room.  I really don't want a TV in the living room.  That is really a no go, because then we'd have to get another Direct TV box.  And we already have a TV downstairs in the family room - where I don't want to be! lol

All this to say, we did not get the SMART TV.  So I will admit, Christmas shopping for me is a little hard, when I can buy stuff myself.  I like handbags, jewelry, clothes and all that good stuff, but I'm not pressed for it.  I'd rather spend $500 on a gadget than a purse.  Go figure.

But in the end, I found something for him to get me.  :-)  It's a Livescribe.  A computer pen. [another gadget]  But I did, eventually put a list together:  a handbag, another watch, charms for my Juicy Coutoure bracelet, a spa package, socks, underwear, slippers, Bath & Body Works.....the usual.

I love my husband and I commend him for trying to do something sweet for me for the holidays....considering he has to do this again for my birthday...next month! LOL :-)

In essence, Christmas is never about the gifts, its always about spending time with your family and friends.

#Church #Chick My #First #Novel

My first novel will hopefully drop as an eBook in January.  [I also plan to have a mass market/trade paperback book in the future] I'm very excited.  The book is based of my screenplay of the same name.  I've always wanted to write a novel,  but I didn't have the patience.  I found screenwriting to be easier; only because of the length.  Now I'm enjoying the experience of writing a novel.  It's not so bad after all.

Genre:  Romance/Drama/Comedy

Concept:  Good Girl Gone Bad

Set up:  Emotionally suppressed by her religious mother, SABRINA SLOAN yearns for more excitement in her dull life.  In a shallow attempt to move forward she marries the older Deacon of the church, but is liberated when he dies on their wedding night.  Now free to find love and happiness, Sabrina discovers the dark side of lust and hopelessness when she is confronted by Blair, her best friend, when Blair thinks Sabrina has stolen her boyfriend.

Happy #Thanksgiving #2011

Every year I have so much to be thankful for. My health, my children, my husband, my family, my friends, my job, my dog....but I also have new things to be thankful for;  I started my business, I'm writing my first novel, and for the first time in my life I feel like I'm guiding my life in the direction I wish to pursue.

I'm under new management.

Everything I've been given, the ups and the downs - they all have been blessings, they were character builders.  Giving me more sense of self and the world around me.  I've had my challenges.  I've had my easy moments, I've been blessed not to have a lot of hard knocks; and for these things I am thankful.

I give praise to my life for the moment I am being.  I am thankful for the small moments and the large accomplishments.

But most of all, I give thanks to the Creator for allowing it all to happen.... XoXo

#Brave are the #souls who take #risks

I'm trying something different.  Not new, just different.

Most people when they read ebooks they are in a narrative format.  I've decided to make my screenplays ebooks, but keeping the screenplay format in tact.  It's a risk, but why reinvent the wheel.  The story reads the same, but it's void of a lot of exposition.

This does make me nervous.  A lot of people like their books to read like a traditional book, but God told me to do it like this...my first mind told me...that's who I think God is - my first mind.

Well, for all the things I speak of when it comes to risk, I'm taking this risk, and feeling overly anxious about it, but it's okay.  New ways of doing things come a long when someone was brave enough to put it out there.

#Update: #Sunrai #Multimedia #LLC

My business is progressing a long nicely.  I'm very happy with the progress I'm making.  I have a 2012 launch date, I still need to design my logo, write my business plan, get my website together.

The hardest piece of all of this is designing my logo.  I have an idea in my head of what I want, but I can't draw.  I don't know any graphic design artist.  Any ideas?

I finally recieved my certified filing from the state, so I was able to open up my business bank account.  When I lay down to go to sleep I can't believe my dream of having my own business is coming true and it is legit.  lol   I know I'm moving in the right direction.  I'm feeling this sense of peace and calmness with each step and as I mark off my list of things I have to do to make this launch.

I'm really own my way. :-)

#Secrets #Unraveled #Amazon #Review

JJ has done it again. This book is the last of a trilogy that follows the lives of a powerful family in Washington, DC. But this story specifically focuses on Margaret Pierce, the first lady of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. The previous two are more about Margaret's daughter Lindy. With that being said, Margaret has always been one of the most interesting characters in the series. She's mischievousness, cunning and super manipulative; given all those qualities, Margaret never fails to disappoint when the heat comes and the drama ensues.

It's another JJ Michael page turner. Trust when I say any reader will be left craving for more once finished! I've read all three of the books in this series; usually taking me no more than two days.

Highly recommended for open minded readers who want to be supercharged with a great story!

#Sunrai #Multimedia #LLC is #LIVE!

YES!  I'm doing it....I'm getting things done.

My business is now officially a LLC.  Yay!!!!!  I finally saw it listed in the business search.  It's good to be official.  Now I really gotta work! lol :-)

Sunrai Multimedia, LLC is an e-Publishing company.  I've decided to publish my own works as well as anyone else who is looking to become an author and wants there works and writing published on e-readers.  I'm also going to start an e-mag, but that's down the line.

I also have plans to dabble in reviewing technology products.  I already review for Amazon in their Vine program, so why not take it a step further.  This piece is also in due time.  I'm just one person! lol

But the main part is I'm on my to creating the life I want outside of a traditional nine to five.  I want to live my life on my own terms - I just have to have passive income to get it done.

It's a step by step process - I have it all written out, and I'm climbing each stair.

#Update

As usual, I get busy and I don't have time to post in my blog and then I remember and I come back to it.  That's just how my life works.  And I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work like that for others as well.  I have a lot of spaces I maintain on the "Internets", so it can be difficult at times.

I have to post the latest for Avalon Adventures, just wrote the newest chapter.  I have no clue where this story is going, so I just let it come out as it has and I follow.

Hubby was in a very bad car accident - on our first wedding anniversary.  I witnessed it.  It happened in slomo in my mind.  Can't believe after what I witnessed, he's okay.  We just got another car - a SUV....so I'm happy to have my car back! lol It's hard sharing one car when your schedules are very different.  But we managed to work it out.  Luckily it was only for three weeks. And the first week he was off of work.  So in all it worked out well.

Finally, got my business off the ground - SUNRAI MULTIMEDIA, LLC!  Yes.  Going to get the domain name today and push ahead.

Back to getting everything in order!  Not that it got out of order.  It's been waiting for me! lol

The #Girl With the #Dragon #Tattoo (#English dubbed)

I saw this streaming movie from Amazon.com

I really enjoyed this movie. I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't sure what to expect by the title, and this was the first time I had ever heard of the movie or the books. The movie is graphic, but that lent to the realism of it. It kept me glued the entire time. Now I want to know what happened in Lisbeth's life to make her the way she is. I'm looking forward to watching the next two movies.

I have a review for the follow up movie "The Girl Who Played With Fire."  Not good as this one, but it was nice to see the continuation of last movie.

Hollywood has made their version.  I can't wait to see it to so I can compare the two. If you subscribe to Amazon Prime, you can stream it for free.  Go check this out if you can.

The #Girl Who Played With #Fire (#English dubbed)

Here's my review:

I watched this streaming movie from Amazon.com.

While this is a nice continuation from "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", it didn't have the same impact for me as the first movie. I felt it was rushed and all the information you needed was not provided on how things hooked up between the new journalist and Lisbeth.

It did however provide background information into Lisbeth's mindset and what happened to her. Some parts I didn't feel were believable, but it did keep my interest far enough for me to want to see the last installment.

Overall, I like the first "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," better.  I have a review for that one as well.  Hollywood has also decided to make their version of the "Tattoo" movie and it should be in theaters soon.  I've seen the trailer.

The #Massacre on the #MiddleClass

From Evernote: The #Massacre on the #MiddleClass

There is a force amongst us that is trying to massacre the middle class.  The United States was built upon the backs of the middle class.  The middle class are the hard working people that aren't eligible for entitlements and who aren't the super rich, but the millions upon millions people who are stuck between the two.

I am in the middle class. And it scares me to see how the GOP is trying to gut us and create a divide between the rich and the poor.  How they put more care and importance into corporations, the very corporations that employ the middle class.  But it is those corporations that want to lower the wages of their employees, so they can make more profits and keep more wealth for themselves.  Step one to get this done, squeeze people out of unions by stripping them from their collective bargaining rights.

So here's my thought, there is an underground movement to under mind President Obama to oust him as the POTUS - and I wholeheartedly believe because he is black, highly educated, and doesn't stomp to the same tune as them.

I firmly believe that some corporations have banned together to NOT create jobs, just to make President Obama look bad.  Thus, this helps sink the middle class even further.

The GOP, especially the Tea Party, seem to think they are speaking on behalf of Americans.  I'm here to say, they do not speak for me.  I do not subscribe to their far right thinking.  The GOP is infused and confused between the over zealous religious and save big business ideals.   This country will not be able to survive with this type of confusion.

There is a bad energy floating in this country.  If good thinking and common sense is to prevail, we must combat this energy at every step. Send healing and helpful energy to our POTUS, as he is being attacked.  We must protect ourselves and our way of life.  We can not allow these wild ideals to live any further than they have.

#Evernote: The #Digital Mom Handbook

From Evernote: The Digital Mom Handbook I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing the book "The Digital Mom Handbook," by Audrey McClelland and Colleen Padilla.  The book is about two stay at home moms, who were able to carve out social media careers through blogging vlogging, tweeting, and facebooking. (Amazing how these words are now verbs - I digress).   The purpose of the book is to outlay a road map for other stay at home moms to find a middle ground between staying at home and continuing a career via the Internet.  They describe this method through seven "basic" steps.  The book is well organized and well written.  I enjoyed reading it.  I learned a lot and it supplemented my knowledge base on this subject.  They are able to give specific examples and highlight other mommy blogs.  For a first time blogger or someone who is a novice to this medium as a way to make money, this book is a good start because it gives practical steps.  I felt the authors understood how a person who is new to this could feel some anxiety. - Blog written with #evernote via my LG G-Slate with Google by TMO for Amazon.com Vine Review
